A bit about our …
Sanitation Protocols
At Embellish Nails & Boutique, all of our TDLR licensed nail technicians undergo training on our best-in-class service and sanitation protocols. Our protocols are designed to keep you and our team safe, healthy & happy!
Copper Pedicure Bowls - We use copper pedicure bowls rather than piped whirlpool tubs because these can be more effectively disinfected between each customer utilizing our manual cleaning + EPA-registered, hospital grade disinfectant solution.
Metal Implements - All metal implements undergo a three-step sanitation process: cleaned to remove debris, disinfected in EPA solution, and finally sterilized in our dry heat sterilizers. Sterilized implements go into individual sterile bags to be opened in front of each customer for the ultimate peace of mind.
Single Use Implements - All single-use tools that cannot be effectively disinfected between customers (e.g. nail files, birch cuticle sticks) will be given to you to use at home or disposed. We ask that you do not bring items back to us to re-use.
CND Shellac + Gel Polish FAQs
What is the difference between Shellac and gel polish? Shellac is CND’s brand of gel polish. We use the Shellac brand for most of our gel polish services because it removes more easily in less time and with less risk to your nails than other brands.
How long do Shellac manicures last? Shellac polish can last 10 to 14 days depending on your lifestyle. It may last even longer, but you'll probably notice a gap between your cuticle and the polish where your nail bed has grown out. Nurses, teachers and our nail technicians have all been amazed how long it's lasted on their hard working hands!
How much does a Shellac service cost at Embellish? Our Shellac manicures start at $50 and this includes soaking off your previous gel polish. Shellac Pedicures start at $65 — if you have gel polish reapplied, then there’s no additional charge for removal. If you choose to go back to normal polish, then there will be a small fee for soak off. It's more expensive than our regular services because the Shellac products cost us 4 to 5 times the amount of our regular top coats, base coats and polish. The Shellac service also takes a bit more of a nail technician's time to complete the service. Since even the best manicure rarely lasts longer than three days, most customers have told us that it's a great value.
Is Shellac safe for expectant mothers or those with sensitive skin? Yes. Shellac does not include Formaldehyde, Toluene or DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate). Shellac is hypo-allergenic because it utilizes only a low level of photo-initiators. Photo-initiators can lead to sensitivity with some clients.
What do I need to know when I book? Please mention at the time of booking that you'd like to try a Shellac manicure or Shellac pedicure as these services take longer than regular mani’s or pedi’s to perform. Please note this is a professional product so we don't recommend that you remove Shellac by yourself at home.
How does gel polish like Shellac differ from dip-powder services like SNS? Dip-powder systems like SNS and Revel are essentially “acrylic lite” products that use a combination of superglue and polymer powders to create a super-hard veneer on your nails. We have chosen to not offer application or removal of these systems out of concern for the health of our team.
